Ring of Honor: Final Battle 2009 Results: Aries vs. Black, Wolves vs. Briscoes
Ring of Honor Final Battle 2009 December 19, 2009 New York City Larry Sweeney made his return to the company on commentary or so it seemed to me watching the PPV over the net. The sound was horrible for the first few bouts but he did get a big pop when he came out. 1. Four Corners Survival Match Claudio Castagnoli (w/Prince Nana) defeated Colt Cabana, "Addicted to Love" Rhett Titus, and Kenny Omega when he pinned Titus following a Dead lift German Suplex Prior to the next bout Nana got on the mic and ripped into Necro Butcher for missing the show and wondered aloud who Delirious would find to team with him. Enter Pelle Primeau who was quickly destroyed by Bison Smith. Bobby Dempsey came to the rescue leading to.. 2. The Embassy (Bison Smith and Erick Stevens w/Prince Nana and Ernie Osiris) defeated Delirious and Bobby Dempsey (w/Daizee Haze) when Smith pinned Dempsey following a top rope power bomb 3. Fight Without Honor Eddie Kingston pinned "That Young Knockout Kid" Chris Hero (w/Shane Hagadorn and Sara Del Ray) with a Roaring Elbow wearing Hero's own loaded elbow pad 4. The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) defeated Kevin Steen and El Generico when Nick pinned Steen following a double Super kick Post-Match: Steen, really selling the work done on his knee during the bout, got on the mic and declared to the crowd he wasn't the same man he was three years ago and how far he'd come in ROH and everywhere else he'd worked. He hugged Generico but before we could all feel too warm and fuzzy, he KILLED Generico with a sick chair shot, totally unprotected. Cabana ran out to prevent any further damage and with the help of several officials, lead a left for dead Generico backstage. 5. Pick Six Challenge Match Kenny King pinned Roderick Strong with a roll up and a handful of trunks to win Strong's number four spot Before the next bout began, Rocky Romero got on the mic and announced due to bad weather Jack Evans and Teddy Hart wouldn't be able to make it for the scheduled tag match leading to.. 6. Rocky Romero defeated Alex Koslov via submission with an arm bar Botched finish as the bell rang before Koslov was ever close to submitting causing a lot of confusion. 7. ROH World Tag Team Championship Match The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) defeated ROH World Tag Team Champions The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards w/Shane Hagadorn) when Jay pinned Edwards following the Springboard Doomsday Device to capture the titles Post-Match: Castagnoli ran down and began beating down Mark. Before Jay could make a save, Hero also came down and the Kings of Wrestling seemingly reunited, leaving the new champs laid out. The lights went out and when they came back on, Jack Evans was in the ring with Teddy Hart and a returning Julius Smokes joining the fray. Evans cut a short promo before Hart challenged him to a fight right then and there leading to.. 8. Jack Evans pinned Teddy Hart with the 630 Splash Smokes acted as the referee so it wasn't ever a full fledged match but still a heck of a fight imo. 9. ROH World Title Match ROH World Champion Austin Aries and Tyler Black fought to a 60 Minute Time Limit Draw Briscoes and KOW brawled back to ringside with Black and Aries still going at it. Show ended with Briscoes and Black standing tall. |

Books for class
On the off-chance that any of you are in the paralegal program at STLCC, I have some books available at a good price.
